Landmark telecoms deal! Print E-mail

clarolime01.jpgIn what is surely a landmark deal in Jamaica’s telecoms sector, rivals Lime and Claro have inked a deal to share what’s described as a large number of  cellular towers across Jamaica.

In a joint statement July 17, 2009 both companies said that under a long-term contract each company will provide a matching number of cell towers across the island which will increase the overall coverage footprint of both mobile providers.

Both Geoff Houston, LIME’s Country Manager and Claro’s CEO for Jamaica, Alejandro Gutierrez, praised the agreement as one which will allow them to enhance the mobile experience of their customers.

That’s certainly one for the notebook and a victory for Jamaican consumers!
